Ethylene-Propylene

E.P.D.M. rubber is a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene, and a small percentage of a diene. E.P.D.M. gained acceptance in the seal industry for its excellent ozone and chemical resistant characteristics. They are particularly useful when sealing phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids, and fluids containing a glycol base in brake systems.

E.P.D.M. has good resistance to polar solvents such as M.E.K. and acetone. It is also highly recommended for resistance to steam, hot water, silicone oils, diluted acids, alkalies and alcohols. Further, it features excellent resistance to aging by both sunlight and ozone.
