Seals for jet engine applications can be molded in a huge variety of shapes and sizes, materials and configurations, to perform many different functions.
Types of seals made at Jonal commonly use silicone or fluorosilicone rubber reinforced with fabrics, such as polyester, nylon, fiberglass, and aramids (NOMEX or KEVLAR). Seals are used in the engine compressor stages to fill gaps around blades and vanes, and control or limit air flow. Seals are also used around the engine nacelle.
